Is-sinjal għal POMPA TAL-PETROL magħmul minn żewġ partijiet. (i) Fl-ewwel parti jsir is-sinjal għal STABBILIMENT. L-idejn jieħdu l-forma ta’ 1 bil-pala tal-id tħares ’il barra. Il-werrej ta’ id imiss mal-werrej tal-id l-oħra. L-idejn jitbiegħdu laġenba u ’l isfel u jiffurmaw linja b’angolu rett. Imbagħad jerġgħu jimxu lejn in-nofs sakemm jiltaqgħu. (ii) Fit-tieni parti id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ Ċ miftuħa u bil-pala tħares ’il ġewwa u titwaqqaf quddiem. L-id l-oħra tieħu l-forma ta’ L bil-pala tħares djagonalment laġenba. Il-werrej iħares ’l isfel ġol-forma ta’ Ċ tal-id l-oħra.
The sign for PETROL STATION consists of two parts. (i) The first part is the sign for ESTABLISHMENT. This is made with both hands that take the shape of 1 with the palms facing outwards. The index fingers touch each other and then move to the side and downwards forming a right angle, then back to the middle until the index fingers meet again. (ii) In the second part, one hand takes the shape of open Ċ and is placed at the front with the palm facing inwards. The other hand takes the shape of L with the palm facing diagonally sideways. The index finger points downwards through the C shape of the other hand.
